A family living overseas needed a home that would respond to the site as well as the family’s needs. The site is a woody knoll that overlooks Los Perros beach with views up the coast to a dramatic headland. Two wings were created and are rotated to take in the views up and down the coast. A glass entry corridor connects the two wings and provides views as you enter over the pool to the ocean beyond. The living wing contains a generous open floor plan with living, dining and kitchen under a vaulted timbered ceiling. The private wing contains an upper floor master suite aerie with a closely connected children’s bedroom below. The whole house embraces a central terrace with a pool and grill area with outdoor dining and views to the ocean. Additional guest bedrooms are accommodated below the living wing and in a guest cottage tucked back into a wooded ravine, accessed by a path and bridge.
