Total Office Interiors
Baltimore, Maryland | 17,000 square feet | Office, Interior Renovation, Adaptive Reuse
This renovation of an old factory building into a showroom and corporate headquarters embodied the client's new fresh business approach with a open and friendly design that peeled away the old and exposed an uplifting sense of clear organization.
Program: New showroom, workstations, offices, multiple meeting areas, resource library, kitchen, lunchroom, accounting and executive areas.
Maximizing Building Assets: The flared columns became a focal point of the scheme and inspiration for the design.
Indirect Lighting: Striping out the old dropped ceiling brought in natural light and scrims were used to soften glare and increase the open airy feeling. Indirect pendants were used to create ambient, high quality light and a positive work environment.
Creating Identity: Three red planes create visual contrast with light and airy forms. They both serve as wayfinding as the circulation rotates throughout and also build a unique environment that embodies the company's energy.
