Harbor Residence
Baltimore, Maryland | 4,000 square feet | Residential
Capturing views and filling the house with the changing light of the waterfront was the primary design objective of this renovation, which transformed an unfinished townhouse shell that had been vacant for years. Full architectural and interiors services allowed all elements of the design to meld together in a calm unified manner. A new floating stair provided uplifting circulation between floors, while new frameless slots into the stair allowed east light and views to penetrate the core. Furnishings and motorized draperies were integrated with millwork and other built elements, which also were carefully planned to frame views within the house and to the exterior. The design blended the owners desire for traditional aesthetic with fresh uplifting design elements that reflected the owner’s lifestyle and extensive travels. The resulting combination of these desires became the key to the home’s personality.
